The Antibody Society Korea

About Us

Established in 2014, the Antibody Society Korea (ASK) is the country's leading society of experts and professionals in the antibody field. Twice a year, hundreds of academics, research scientists, entrepreneurs, and other experts in the field convene for a comprehensive 3-day conference, featuring lectures spanning from target discovery to cutting-edge antibody technologies.

ASK welcomes new members interested in antibodies and their practical applications, providing excellent prospects for informal interactions with top experts in a relaxed atmosphere.

Our Mission

Our mission is to facilitate the exchange of individuals and knowledge within the field of antibody research and development in Korea, fostering the growth of academia and industry while promoting both the economy and public health.

Our History

  • July 2014. Founding meeting and inaugural symposium. Dr. Chonghwan Chang elected as ASK president.

    • ASK workshops (Nov 2014, July and Nov. 2015)

    • Jan 2016. Co-organized the inaugural High-One New Drug Development Symposium (High-One resort, Gangwon province)

  • July 2016. Prof. Byung-Du Song (Scripps Korea Antibody Institute; currently Kangwon University) elected as 2nd ASK president.

    • ASK summer workshops (June 2016 and 2017)

    • High-One New Drug Development Symposium (Jan 2017)

  • Dec 2017. Prof. Junho Chung (SNU college of medicine) elected as 3rd ASK president.

    • High-One New Drug Development Symposium (Jan 2018)

    • ASK summer workshops (July 2018 and 2019)

    • ASK winter workshops (Feb 2019 and Jan 2020)

  • Feb 2020. Prof. Yong Sung Kim (Ajou University) elected as 4th ASK president.

    • Meetings cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic.

    • ASK summer workshop (online) (July 2021)

    • ASK winter workshop (on/offline hybrid) (Feb 2022)

  • Feb 2022. Prof. Hyunbo Shim (Ewha Womans University) elected as 5th ASK president.

  • Feb 2024. Prof. Dae Hee Kim (Kangwon National University) elected as 6th ASK president.
